See the full report here: https://secure.fullspectrumlabs.com/report/1105383

Appearance: (7.75/10) At the surface level, this sample was rather colorful and attractive to the eye, with its jutting pumpkin orange pistils and speckled green and purple coloration. The trichome coverage was pretty high, but when we got close on it, many of them were broken apart or otherwise mutated, with about 60% left undamaged. We liked the structure and feel of the nugs though, as they had a proper amount of give while still being dense and well-cured. We saw evidence of a hermie flower and some tiny seeds scattered about, which (along with the somewhat shaggy trim) served to hurt the overall package despite its outward attractiveness.

Aroma: (8.5/10) The crisp, clean, fresh-smelling aroma that this strain produced definitely brought to mind both of the parents, as well as other strains such as Colorado Cough, Snowcap, and other NL #5/Haze variants. It almost tingles the nose with a mentholated flowery sweetness, getting quite a bit more pungent when it’s broken apart.

Taste: (8/10) The flavor was almost exactly like the aroma, which is normally a good sign in our minds. Clean and smooth, it was a little sweet going in and left behind a flowery, mentholated aftertaste which left the mouth feeling fresh and the lungs breathing easy. The fluffy light gray and white ash left behind was further evidence of the proper flush, dry, and cure that this sample appeared to have received.

Effects: The initial effects of this one were Sativa in nature for the majority of our staff, serving to wake up our minds a bit and just provide a little jolt to the system due to the potency. We also got some early facial effects (specifically in the jaw and eye areas, strangely enough) and an immediate mood elevation, which had use feeling functional and content. After the first 30-45 minutes, the experience took a heavy turn for one of our reviewers, where he was almost falling asleep on the couch mid-evening (a rarity), due in large part to the at times heavy eye effects, which made them feel sunken, heavy, and a little dry. The other reviewers didn’t get to the point of falling asleep, but it did start feeling heavier in general, providing quite a bit of relaxation, both mentally and physically. For an Indica-dominant hybrid, the end of this one felt suspiciously similar to the “crash” that one often feels at the end of a high-octane Sativa experience, leaving us a bit drained and tired, but still mentally positive and happy.

Duration: 1.5 – 2 hours medicinal-level potency, 2.5 – 3+ hours total duration

Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Strong ocular effects throughout the experience, mood elevation, anti-anxiety, muscle relaxation, moderate pain relief (had a numbing quality to it), and sleep aid at higher dosages/later in the duration.

Overall: We’ve seen this strain previously looking in better condition, and we’re suspicious that this one was simply a bit older than we normally get, having been cured for a while and maybe jangled around in a jar a bit. The missing trichome heads in spots and the other (fairly minor) grow flaws knocked this one down a peg overall, but the effects as well as the aroma/flavor package redeemed it for the most part. We appreciated how smooth the whole experience felt, from the pleasantly cool and mentholated smoke to the steadiness of the mood elevation and ocular effects. This one fits somewhere in the functional daytime Indica category at lower dosages, but creeps into the nighttime Indica category when the dosage is stepped up, and especially without remedication, as the end of the experience was fairly tiring for our staff.

Sour Diesel Medical Marijuana Strain Review

From: Urban Dispensary

Grade: A

Type: Sativa-dominant hybrid

Lineage: Unconfirmed, likely Original Diesel x DNL

Price: $45/8th

Appearance: (8.75/10) This sample had the stereotypical Sour Diesel structure, with an open, large-calyxed look with a substantial amount of trichomes and the signature peach-pink pistils poking out in areas. The texture was nicely sticky and unlike the standard “Colorado cure” , in that it was clearly well-dried, but still had some give to it, and left a tacky residue all over the fingers when broken apart by hand. We found essentially no flaws with this sample, as the harvest timing was mostly perfect, and there was no sign of immature seeds, etc. This sample would impress all but the pickiest of connoisseurs, and anyone who knows Sour Diesel intimately will recognize this sample immediately.

Aroma: (9/10) Extremely pungent both pre and post-grind, this Sour Diesel had all the smells that we expect from the strain, at a very high level. From a distance, it’s almost all skunk-fuel stank, but when it’s ground up, it becomes more complex and definitely takes on some sour citrus notes, as well as a slightly mentholated floor cleaner type of smell. This one landed more on the fuel/skunk side than the citrusy side, but had both elements present at a high level.

Taste: (8.75/10) Like the smell, the flavor was fuel and skunk-dominant, but carried some of the sour and even light floral notes as well, making this a rather complex Diesel overall. The lingering oily aftertaste seemed to linger in the mouth and on the lips for 30 minutes after smoking at times. The smoke itself was rather smooth and enjoyable despite having a healthy dose of expansion, as most good examples of the strain do — big hits will make you cough, but it doesn’t linger and hits the actual throat very smoothly. The fluffy very light gray and white ash showed that it had received a proper flush and we believe that paid dividends in the taste department.

Effects: This med seemed to change its effects based on the amount consumed, as well as time time of day. When consumed late in the day, and especially at high dosages, it was very much a “crusher” type of Sativa, knocking the legs out from underneath us, but keeping the mind very active and easily-pulled into activities. When consumed at a lighter dose and earlier in the day, it was near-euphoric and uplifting (both mentally and physically, with quite a bit of visual/auditory simulation and the adventurous urge to seek out new activities. In either case, the effects start with a near-instant rush of pressure to the eyes and face, giving a strong buzzing feeling and signaling the proper level of Sativa-dominant potency for the strain. Another feature of this medicine was the strong pain distraction qualities, which seemed to numb and relax the body a bit, while keeping the mind so engaged that pain and tensions became an afterthought. Past the 1.5 hour point, the potency definitely declined, and depending on which “choose your own adventure”-like course you were on at the time, it either took a turn for the tired or became less potent and retained the uplifting traits.

Duration: ~2 hours medicinal-level potency, 3+ hours overall duration

Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Mood elevation, anti-anxiety (the strong start may be a little much for some patients, we suggest starting slow with Sour D), strong ocular effects, appetite stimulation, muscle and nerve pain reduction/distraction, and sleep aid at higher dosages (especially towards the end of the effects).

Overall: This was one of the best Sour Diesel samples that we’ve had in some time, and despite the potency, we can recommend it to beginners at small dosages, which seemed to provide a more moderate, uplifting effect. At high dosages, this is medicine for more experienced patients only, as it was almost psychotropic at times, affecting both the mind and body in a major way and leaving us unable to do a whole lot other than “hang on for the ride”. The appeal of this sample was top-notch and impressed everyone who saw it, especially real Diesel-lovers. One veteran staff member who loves Sour D but has fallen away from it a bit due to its commercialization said that this sample reminded him of why he fell in love with the strain in the first place. The smell and taste were both near-perfect for the strain, and both were equally pungent. Simply put, if you like Sour Diesel, Urban Dispensary’s version definitely deserves a purchase. It was a near-flawless grow of a notoriously-difficult strain to perfect, showing the prowess of the grow team as well as the post-harvest care team, who both did a spectacular job preserving the integrity of the medicine and the strain itself.

Oh! Zone Medical Marijuana Strain Review

From: The Herbal Cure

Grade: B+

Type: Indica-dominant hybrid

Lineage: BC Chemo x OG Kush, from Dr. Greenthumb

Price: $45/8th

Appearance: (7.5/10) This was one of those cases where exterior appearances can be deceiving, and reminded us not to judge just based on naked eye appearance. The nug we got as the sample was a large, blocky, and very dense with a dark green and red color palate that screamed “Indica” to our staff. Though the trichome coverage wasn’t overtly apparent just looking at the bud, when under the scope, it showed off a hearty collection of large-headed and short-stemmed trichomes that were mostly clear and cloudy. The earlier harvest may have been intentional in this case, as these genetics hold the potential for a total KO type of effect.

Aroma: (8/10) Though this isn’t an appealing smell in the sense that something fruity or sweet is, it appealed to the Indica-lovers in our staff, who recognized the musky, woody, spicy, earthy aromas it released as harbingers of a traditional type of Indica experience. It was a bit softer and more straight musky with slight pepper notes in the bag/jar, but when ground, it became more sharp and garlicky, with hints of pine and a major uptick in pungency level.

Taste: (6.75/10) Much like the pre-grind smell, the flavor was a spicy, vegetal, and earth-dominant experience, never tasting particularly distinct. The smoke was fairly pleasant and only made us cough on large hits due to expansion. The flavor did degrade to the point where it wasn’t pleasurable by the end, but that’s fairly standard amongst strains that aren’t overtly flavorful from the outset. There was some room for improvement with the flush, as the final ash was a medium gray with some white and bits of darker gray.

Effects: The initial effects of this med, like many, seemed fairly Sativa in nature, serving to awaken us quite a bit just by changing the mental state a bit and causing physical effects in the head, face, and eyes along with the urge to move around in the seat or get up and walk around. We got some typical pressure increase in the facial areas as well as a sort of cascading/waving body effect that was mostly concentrated in the neck, shoulders, and upper torso. An increased heartrate and some spatial distortion had us slightly overwhelmed at times early on, but that cleared up after about 30 minutes. The early energized effect evened out into a relaxing but somewhat cloudy-feeling mental state, where tasks could be accomplished, but tended to move more slowly and deliberately than normal. One reviewer amongst our group who reviewed in the morning hours found it to be not nearly as heavy, and the initial effects seemed to carry the energy level into the 2nd hour — the rest of us had a more short-lived “up” part of the experience. Relaxation builds after the first 1.5 hours or so, culminating in an outright sleepy state as it left us.

Duration: 1.5 – 2 hours medicinal-level potency, 2.5 – 3 hours overall

Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Energy to start, ocular pressure changes, some anti-nausea properties, light pain and muscle tension relief, and sleep aid later in the duration.

Overall: The genetics from the breeder says OG Kush, but this one really seemed much more like a traditional Hindu Kush type of strain, especially in the appearance, smell, and taste areas. Oh! Zone looks extremely Indica in almost every way, from the dark coloration to the fat trichome heads, and the taste and smell carried that trend through, with a package of spicy, musky, and earthy qualities. We felt that the effects seemed to depend upon context a bit, as a morning review produced more of a moderate Indica hybrid experience, and a later session resulted in a more overt Indica feeling, with only the first 30 minutes to 1 hour feeling energizing or stimulating. The sleep aid properties that ended this experience were perhaps its greatest medical benefit, but the main effects serves to elevate mood a bit while helping with daily aches and tensions. Oh! Zone had a potent start that might be a little much for inexperienced patients, so we’d mark this in the mid-level patient category, primarily for evening use.

Purple Maui Medical Marijuana Strain Review

From: Happy Harvest

Type: Sativa-dominant hybrid

Price: $50/8th

Grade: B+

Appearance: (8/10) Very nice fall colors associated with Maui, beautiful purple traits throughout the plant, and great trichome count and structure.

Aroma: (6/10) Nice scent but not that strong, the familiar Maui, soft pine hints.

Taste: (4/10) This sample was hashy and fairly harsh for Maui. A little tongue numbing upon exhale.

Effects: This is a fast acting medicine, making itself felt directly in the jaws and cheek bone areas of the face. Heart rate quickly jumped along with a very cerebral rush of energy. I found myself with sweaty palms and often repeating my last few words or sentences. Indica traits were felt in the neck and shoulder region via muscle relaxation.

Duration: Long. 2.5 + hours

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – peronal opinion ONLY) Sativa traits good for mood elevation, behavioral issues, mild pain relief, and head focused issues. Some mild muscle based problems – not a strong muscle relaxer.

Overall: The Purple Maui looked great and had very solid potency for the strain, maybe an A- strength to it. However, the after medicating effects were intense and I was extremely drained and tired, barely able to function with a list of chores to accomplish. We feel like a strain should provide the indica pain relief and relazing qualities if it leaves us with an indica like comatose situation after medicating. Other folks may find this to be a good hybrid choice, with this one leaning more towards the middle than most Maui (sativa) samples we’ve reviewed.

Lamb’s Breath Medical Marijuana Review

From: Alpine Herbal Wellness

Grade: B+

Type: Jamaican landrace Sativa

Price: $60/8th

Appearance: (6/10) Fluffy looking and light in weight, but compact nugs with dark and lime green leaves. A decent amount of orange hairs.

Aroma: (6/10) The smell is very interesting. It is not a fruity strain at all, but more organic with sourness. Very pungent, but like a barn.

Taste: (7/10) Taste is a bit spicy, peppery, and piney. Leaves a unique after-taste.

Medicine Type: This sativa kicked in real fast for me, and delivers a stoney cerebral type high. This strain also really makes my body feel a buzz, like there is a barrier around me. Awesome strong medicine can alter visual perspective making things appear to move slow.

Medicine Length: Long. 2 – 3 hours.

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Really a great medication for being creative while easing body aches. Its powerful medicine is sure to numb headaches with a great zoning-out effect.

Overall: Lambs Breath or Lambs Bread is a Jamaican Sativa that hits really hard and lasts for a long time. Made me feel very tranquil with a strong body high along with the head buzz. Makes my body feel very heavy, while my head is up in the clouds. This bud is really strong and provides a long buzz with an interesting aroma to follow.
