Dynamite (CAM)
Dynamite Medical Marijuana Strain Review
From: Colorado Alternative Medicine
Grade: A
Type: Mostly Indica (an F4 Grapefruit crossed back into the BC Grapefruit mother, from Next Generation Seeds)
Price: $50/8th
Appearance: (8.5/10) Very nice dense stocky structure with an outwardly frosty pale green sheen. Rather good harvest timing as well, with about 10% amber trichomes visible.
Aroma: (8.5/10) Sweet-and-sour grapefruit in the jar, turns to an even sharper yet fresh-smelling citrus-soil after being ground up… fairly pungent and complex.
Taste: (7/10) Earthy citrus with a pine tinge was the flavor here, though it didn’t last beyond the first 3 hits and got a bit woody towards the end. Fairly smooth, yet expansive, it burned to a very light gray ash, indicating a quality flush.
Effects: Felt strongly right away in the eyes and sinuses, this one also has a very strong pulsing narcotic body effect that left our reviewers with big smiles and the desire to simply relax. Couchlock, appetite stimulation, and a completely relaxed body are the hallmarks of any strong Indica, and this one fits the bill perfectly.
Duration: Long, 2.5 – 3 hours
Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Total mental and body relaxation, appetite stimulation, anti-depression, anti-anxiety, sleep aid, possible ocular relief, hypertension.
Overall: A surprising favorite amongst the staff, this potent medicinal Indica has a place with any patient who struggles with pain or appetite especially, but it’s also a great choice for anyone later in the day or when being physically active isn’t required. Watch the dosage with this one though, as it can put you to sleep if you’re not careful! Altogether, it’s a superb medical strain with a pleasing citrusy taste/smell package.
OG Kush (High Grade Alternatives)
[smooth=id:22;]
OG Kush Medical Marijuana Strain Review
From: High Grade Alternatives
Grade: A
Type: Sativa-dominant Hybrid, not sure which ‘cut’ this one is (will update if/when we get info)
Price: $50/8th
Appearance: (8/10) With a somewhat “loose” structure of bunched-together calyxes on stalks, this was a fairly unique-looking OG. It’s a medium dark green bleached pale thanks to the pink/peach pistils and the trich coverage. Speaking of trichs, they are perfect, with a selection of very well-preserved amber heads. The sample was dry and nice otherwise, but we did find a few immature seeds in it.
Aroma: (8.5 /10) A bit of a weird strain, this one smelled lightly sweet and piney/gingery in the jar but once handled turned into a menacing, skunky, almost gun oil/tire store stink that reminds us of a quality ChemDog. It’s basically a classic sweet-tinged kush in the jar, but a stinky, pungent kush when ground… very nice indeed, though not exactly “appealing” due to the acrid nature.
Taste: (8/10) Luckily the ground smell wasn’t the dominant taste, as this one yielded a taste more along the lines of the jar smell, with tones of pine, ginger, and citrus. It was never overt and pungent, but the first two hits were flavorful. It was moderately harsh and expanded like crazy though, so be careful… the ash showed a quality flush.
Effects: Like many Sativas, this one went right to the head and eyes, with a rushing warmth, flushed face, and slight perspiration. It was on the racy side, but the feeling behind the eyes was among the strongest we’ve experienced… buzzing, almost burning. This was a bit of a two-sided strain, as we seemed to be comfortable on the couch when alone but up and active when with others. It dropped in potency noticeably about 1:15 in, leaving a capable and energetic feeling behind that remained until the end.
Duration: Long, 2.5 – 3 hours
Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Energetic and mentally motivated at first, more calm and relaxed towards the end, this med also showed great promise with ocular issues, while also helping with minor body pain and relaxation.
Overall: This was a very interesting OG Kush — it had a very pungent aroma that brought to mind a Poison OG due to its harsh almost chemical twang, but smelled weirdly sweet when not being handled. The potency at first was off the charts, with ridiculously strong eye buzzing sensations and a burst of energy, but it became more manageable as it went on. The total package was all pretty top-notch — strong, pungent, visually appealing… worth a trip to Boulder for sure.
Bubba Kush (Nedicate)
Bubba Kush Medical Marijuana Strain Review
From: Nedicate
Grade: A
Type: Indica-dominant, thought to be an Afghani landrace variety
Price: $50/8th
Appearance: (8/10) Gleaming with tall clear/cloudy trichomes, this sample is dark-looking overall with some slight purpling and brick red pistils. Though this sample was absolutely spectacular looking, there were a few tiny seeds and some yellowed leaves left on, knocking the score down slightly. It left the fingers sticky after handling even though it was totally dry.
Aroma: (8.5/10) A sweet and slightly fruity Kush in the jar, but it ground up to a pungent and fresh scent with hints of ginger and pine. Not the normal musky Bubba we’re used to, but extremely nice.
Taste: (7.5/10) A very appealing taste, though not pungent, this Bubba had a light sweetness but was mostly a cool-tasting and slightly fuely Kush. The taste disappeared somewhat quickly though, with only the first 2 hits having a hint of it. The smoke was very expansive and is the type that can sneak up on you and elicit some coughing.
Effects: A very strong warmth to the head with some pressure fluctuation along with significant body waves/tingling to start led to a creeping smile that seemed to never leave once it arrived. It was a bit of a crushing Sativa effect at first, with the body feeling great and the eyes feeling swelled and hot. It moved more into its Indica nature as it progressed — yawning and stretching led one reviewer straight into a nap in the middle of the morning, a very unusual occurrence. The body waves endured very deep into the duration, but it also had a bit of unsettled energy that made alternate sitting and moving a common theme.
Duration: Long, 3+ hours
Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Potent mood elevation, sleep aid, body relaxation, mild pain relief, and anti-depression properties… great medical strain.
Overall: Though the taste was a little different than the Bubba we’ve become accustomed to, this particular cut was extremely potent and had a high medicinal value for patients seeking relaxation and tension/pain relief properties. This one definitely earned its ‘A’ based on the potency, duration, and medicinal qualities, but the appearance was fairly spectacular as well, especially in the trichome coverage and density. Yet another potent and quality med from the mountains of Nederland…
Bubba Diesel (Stone Mountain Wellness)
[smooth=id:181;]
Bubba Diesel Medical Marijuana Strain Review
From: Stone Mountain Wellness
Grade: A
Type: Hybrid - [Bubba Kush x Sour Diesel]
Price: $50/8th
Appearance: (9/10) The sample was dry, well manicured, pest free, medium density and covered in beautiful trichomes. Coloration is shades of green and very fuzzy orange pistils.
Aroma: (9/10) Sweet eucalyptus scent that was tantalizing. A truly wonderful smell regardless of its source.
Taste: (7/10) We got multiple reports of a sweet fertilizer taste, even a dark berry hint, but overall it was agreed that while the flavor was still very pleasant it was certainly the weakest mark of the group.
Effects: A cerebral, enlightening feeling hits almost instantly while body heat, perspiration, and heart rate all noticeably increase. As the the medication sets in the mind and body begin to move in slow motion. The sativa and indica effects in this strain seemed at constant battle, trading dominance back and forth. Half way through a slight couch or chair session are in order as the indica emerges. Towards the end one regains mental sharpness and finds motivation. A nice surplus of energy emerges as you hit the road to sobriety.
Duration: Long. 2.5 hours
Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Good for head to toe body pain, and was able to rid a slight headache. Also recommended for depression and hypertension.
Overall: This is a very strong and impressive strain. The hybrid waves were quite pronounced but not uncomfortable or meddling. The high was still clear while the medicine worked well for body aches, muscle tension, and pain relief. It was a beautiful cluster of flowers, presented well, and the experience was therapeutic and enjoyable. It’s hard to beat that combo.
Jack Flash (The Releaf Center)
Jack Flash Medical Marijuana Strain Review
From: The Releaf Center
Grade: A
Type: Hybrid – Sativa Dominant. The inbred product of Jack Herer (NL x Skunk x Haze) back-crossed with a carefully selected Super Skunk.
Price: $50/8th + tax
Appearance: A green fuzzy teddy bear – The trichome structure on these buds are just spectacular. They are super long and makes the nug look almost fuzzy. Fair colored nugs with huge calyx dripping with resin.
Aroma: Very pungent sweet chemical citrus pine.
Taste: Thick smoke with the distinctive taste of Skunk and Haze. It was very clean – good expansion.
Buzz Type: Immediate effect gave a heightened body warmth in my torso area with a somewhat overwhelming head high (cerebral is the common description). My initial description was that my head felt attached to a string hanging from the ceiling. I could then hear a pounding in my head and some slight neck tension, facial warmth and tingle. After these 5 minutes it was a strong but smooth and happy buzz.
Buzz Length: Long. 2- 2.5 Hours
Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) A great smoke for an all day type of medication. Not the best for pain relief, but great for uplifting the spirit and creativity. This strain increased my heart rate for about an hour.
Overall: Great stuff! High quality in every category. Its powerful cerebral buzz, mixed with a milder body high, has made this strain an up-and-coming contender for top medical strains. Jack Flash is a great looking strain with many desirable traits. When this strain is around, do not hesitate to try some for yourself.
