Diesel Dawg (CCF)

Diesel Dawg Medical Marijuana Review

From:  Colorado Care Facility

Grade:  A-

Type:  Hybrid – East Coast Sour Diesel  x Chem 91 55/45 Indica to Sativa

Price: $55/8th

Appearance:  Different hues of green – large and well taken care of.

Aroma: Chemical pine & menthol fuel

Taste:   A clean lemon (no astringent flavor common with the “cleaner” tasting strains) with good expansion

Buzz Type:  A sharp, well adjusted buzz with lifted visual & auditory awareness. The wavy, happy feeling kept me on my feet with full coordination and drive as well as being mentally disciplined for writing and other seated activities.  Maybe a little sativa dominance in this one, but a good mixture.

Buzz Length: Medium. 1.5 – 2+ Hours.

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Well recommended for fatigue and introversion with only mildly satisfactory nerve/bone pain relief.  Muscle based (leg cramps and similar) were knocked out quite well.  IBS was immediately relieved, but not much appetite stimulation.

Overall:  Great bud, when I first hit it I could tell it was clean and well maintained throughout the grow. After hitting the vaporizer I had an immediate couch lock that lasted about 4 minutes. Then I was alert and happy doing just about anything, watching a movie or editing photos. Overall a great bud for varied situations, I would’ve liked to see a little more longevity for a higher grade.

Urkel x O.G. Kush (CCF)

Urkel x O.G. Kush Medical Marijuana Strain Review

(Purple Urkel is commonly called Urkle or Erkle as well)

From:  Colorado Care Facility

Grade:  A-

Type: Purple Urkel OG Kush This combo felt like it was 65-75% Indica

Price:  $60/8th

Appearance:  Dark grayish green & purple, super dense and sticky.

Aroma:  Chemical Kush – a blend of soil, fuel, and the familiar kush scent.  (After this Urkel review we were very disappointed and stated we wouldn’t grab any Urkel sample unless it had a very strong purple/fruity scent.  Reality is the Kush is just so dominant I can’t pick out the Urkel.)

Taste:  Earthy Kush taste, a cleaner variety.

Buzz Type:   A real creeper that took its time to reach its potential.  It was a very subtle rise, so subtle that I didn’t even realize how affected I was.  It was also a very relaxing and calming buzz to the point where you can easily lose track of time  – at one point I hadn’t moved a muscle for an hour.  I found this one to be like one big wave, dropping me down for the first half and rising back through the second.  (Again, very contrary to the Urkle review previously.)

Buzz Length:  Medium-Long.  1.5 – 2.5 Hours (vaporizer seemed to last longer)

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Great for anxiety and overall mood. I didn’t notice any pain which is odd as there is a snow storm moving in which usually results in my pain being amplified.

Overall:  It’s official, the crossing of the two strains are better than the parts, with a B- and B+ combining for an A- grade.  I think this is a great marriage of the two strains as they complement each other well with similar relaxing and calming attributes (reputation and our historical context – it is quite clear the specimen of Urkle we got from Plants 4 Life was subpar).  I like this for someone who needs to relax for a few after a long day but needs to be productive afterwards (thank you kush) and  I will definitely pick this up from CCF when available.

Asteroid OG Kush (The Breck Loft)

Asteroid Medicinal Marijuana Strain Review

From: The Breck Loft

Grade:  A-

Type:  Indica – OG Kush Pheno

Price: Call to ask

Appearance:  A sugar dipped asteroid, lots of texture and a very pleasing visual cue.

Aroma:  Pungent pine cleaner mixed with menthol and had a sinus clear effect – smelled very “clean”.

Taste:  Sour & bitter pine taste. Pleasant and not harsh.

Buzz Type:  An off-the-bat strong starter where occurrence of stimulation in all senses is prevalent.  I would include feelings of increased heart rate, floating somewhat dizzy head, tingly limbs/fingers, and a decrease in visual awareness (tunnel vision).  I must admit for the first hour I was floored, feeling incapable of just about anything requiring activity or effort in thought.  However, I received a call I needed to take and a surge of functionality and sharpness arose.

Buzz Length:  Long. 2 ½-3Hours

Medicinal Use:  (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  No noticeable pain in my back and was even able to clear a slight stress headache.

Overall:  I went to two distinct states while on the Asteroid, one of complete somatic state that rose to one of capability (a nice mixed bag).  I also appreciated that I experienced zero paranoia from such a powerful strain.  This is a very potent indica that possesses enough sativa qualities to keep from locking you to the chair.  We were told this sample had a THC % higher than anything else reported in Colorado – I will concur that it is very strong, but no stronger than some of the other 20%+ samples we’ve reviewed.  The percentage quoted at the store (28%) seems to be wishful thinking and we were not shown testing reports.

Coup de Grace (A20Labs)

Written by KindReviews on February 27th, 2010. Posted in A-, A20Labs, Blog, Reviews, Sativa-Dominant Hybrid

Coup de Grace Medicinal Marijuana Strain Review

From:  A20Labs

Grade:  A -

Type:  Hybrid.  Sativa Heavy (Blueberry x Shishkaberry x Maui x ?) A20/Dr. Blaze confirmed a 4th but I can’t remember what it is, maybe a Haze. It has an 80/20 Sativa to Indica ratio.

Price: Check their website above (They are cheap)

Appearance:  Beautiful.  In plain sight it appears extremely white/light yellow.  These pictures show that there really is a good amount of orange hair throughout.  This strain will become very noticeable as it progresses and I have a feeling some folks will believe they are dealing with a “white” strain.

Aroma: A nice, strong aroma.  While it was familiar I was unable to pick out the individual characteristics of the crosses, confirming this really is its own strain and positioned to grow.

Taste:  The taste got me as an earthy piney taste when I was expecting a more fruity experience.  Excellent expansion.

Buzz Type:  Energy based Sativa buzz.  Very easy to work and stay motivated, not so easy to watch a movie or relax.

Buzz Length:  Long.  2 + hours

Pain Management:  (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Mixed.  It gave me medium relief that lasted a very long time, while I was with someone who had extreme leg pain and was unable to get their desired relief.

Overall:  This is a VERY interesting strain, one that I think has not quite reached its prime.  A20 has done a great job so far, simply seeing one of these buds will juice your thoughts.  It’s obvious they are on the right track, have picked an awesome combination of strains to cross, and most importantly, have a true medicinal focus for the outcome of the Coup de Grace.  In my very humble opinion, they just haven’t reached the finish line with this one (maybe a cross back to a blue for additional pain management?)

Synopsis:  Go try this one, now.  You’ll want to tell someone someday that you were part of A20/Dr. Blaze’s awesome expiriment that shaped Colorado strains for the two-thousand teens!

Sensi Star (Urban Dispensary)

Sensi Star Medical Marijuana Strain Review

From:  Urban Dispensary

Grade:  A-

Type:  Indica.

Price: $18/gram

Appearance:  A mix of fall colors, manicured well.

Aroma:  Sweet like flowers, with a soft lemon tone underneath. (We had one bad sample that smelled terrible, but have since confirmed it was somehow tainted.  The follow-up samples smelled very pleasant.)

Taste:  Earthy, organic taste – no fruit or pine.

Buzz Type:  Indica – sort of.  Overwhelming body warmth created, but NO couchlock.  Affected my conversation immediately, ten minutes later I was pacing wondering why I couldn’t get my thoughts out clearly on my notepad.

Buzz Length:  1 solid  hour (only one small hit from pipe) – Larger bowls produced 1.5 – 2 regularly.

Medicinal Use:  (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Don’t use this if you can’t be on your feet.  Don’t use this if you can’t take a core temp increase.  Do use this for mild pain relief, nausea,

Overall:  The Sensi Star surprised me.  I had heard OK reviews, the first sample smelled terrible, and the Star Train had disappointed me.  Then…it blew me away.  I only review first smokes of the day, but it was still just one hit, how was I that high?  The A grade is no doubt a combination of “surprise” and “this is really underrated”, plus it scored an A- prior to discovering it wasn’t supposed to smell like garbage.  I recommend this strain, after all, the dispensary owner prefers this for personal use.
