Ingrid Medical Marijuana Strain Review
From: Wellspring Collective
Grade: A
Type: Strongly Indica-Dominant [Ingrid is a cross of Sagarmatha Seeds’ Stonehedge mother and a male Juan Moore's Dixie Crystal]
Price: $50/8th
Appearance: (9/10) This sample was of slightly above-average density, and was a uniform medium green with huge tall trichomes and pale orange hairs. It had some of the best trich coverage in terms of density and trich head size that we’ve seen; seems like a true Hashplant. Nicely swelled and bubbly calyxes with a nice manicure give this one a high bud-to-leaf ratio as well. The trichomes were mostly clear-cloudy, with maybe 10% ambers… great harvest timing.
Aroma: (8/10) Very strange, uncanny, and pungent odor that smells like dog poop. Especially pre-grind, that is all you can think of — it’s a weird putrid sweetness with a sharp attack. After it’s ground, it got even stronger with a component of herbiness but mostly an acrid musk and the poo smell. Not pleasing exactly, but unique, pungent, and unmistakable.
Taste: (7/10) Fortunately it didn’t taste like it smelled, and instead produced an ethereal and herby (maybe some sandalwood in there?) taste that almost reminded us of a Haze weirdly enough. Another interesting trait is the wonderful almost menthol-sweet smell the actual smoke had, as it left the room smelling fragrant. The taste wasn’t overt at any point, but the smoke was very pleasing and smooth with no coughing.
Effects: Right off the bat, this strain produced a strong experience, with low eyes and a rising warmth that entered the head, face, and eyes (especially the eyes, which were almost burning). It was nearly dizzying, making it a little bit difficult to walk around without getting a little unbalanced or having to take it a little slower than normal. Once the initial attack subsided (about 30-45 minutes), a glorious and medicating body high was the main effect. Superb relaxation throughout the entire body with a good deal of warmth and the urge to stretch and yawn makes this one perfect for relaxing after a day of physical activity. It stayed at medicinal levels well into the 2nd hour and is one of the better body-centric strains we’ve had recently.
Duration: Long, 2.5 – 3+ hours
Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) General relaxation, pain relief, tension relief, sleep aid, possible ocular relief.
Overall: With its um, distinctive and pungent aroma, it’s ridiculous trich coverage, and long-lasting, medicinal effects, Wellspring’s Ingrid is truly a winner of a strain. This one would do the trick for almost any type of pain or discomfort, and its relaxing effects were both mentally and physically medicating. It would probably get on top of most patients who aren’t heavy users, as even a 0.3g dose was enough to put a veteran into the “overwhelming” range at the onset. Its enduring medicinal-level efficacy was the key component of its high score, as there was almost no drop-off in effects as the 2nd hour elapsed, which is unusual.

S.A.G.E. Medical Marijuana Strain Review
From: Wellspring Collective
Grade: B
Type: Sativa-Dominant Hybrid, Afghanistan x Haze (reportedly “Big Sur Holy”, a Cali variety), stands for “Sativa-Afghani Genetic Equilibrium”, from THSeeds.
Price: $50/8th
Appearance: (6/10) Spongy in texture and pale army green with light orange pistils, this sample was mostly small spear or Christmas tree-shaped buds. There was not a ton of visible trichome coverage, and it looked a bit leafy, but up close it displayed a solid percentage of ambers and the trichs were in good shape. Though the actual bud was spongy and felt fairly wet, the stems still snapped, so our guess is that this sample was rehydrated at some point. In any case, we did discover some tiny black mite eggs on the sample… not many, but they were present (no actual mites though).
Aroma: (6/10) A blend of earthy and herby smells is the initial impression made by this strain, but it released a slightly sweeter smell when handled or ground. The strain is known for smelling of sandalwood and other woody/earthy scents, and this one certainly had that, as it reminded one reviewer of bay leaves and even a little garlic, almost like catching a whiff of an Italian restaurant’s prep kitchen. While it was a unique smell, it didn’t exactly impress the review staff and received average scores overall, in part due to its merely average pungency.
Taste: (6/10) Spicey and vegetal, with a strong element of earthy hash, this strain tasted about like it smelled pre-grind. It again didn’t really impress the review staff here, as the taste wasn’t all that pleasing overall and wasn’t very pungent either. Average expansion and harshness made this one a decent smoke, but there was nothing to bring us back to the taste element specifically.
Effects: Immediately felt in the face and eyes, this strain hit the Sativa end of the spectrum quickly but also with a warm body. The review staff unanimously reported a slow and spacey feeling mentally, struggling a bit with tasks both physically and mentally but enjoying it regardless. It seemed to reach peak potency about 40 minutes in and had by then crept around the back of the head as well as providing quality relaxation throughout the body. One reviewer had been dealing with back tension and soreness after standing for several hours the day prior and experienced a good deal of relief. Spacey and indecisive but never overwhelming, this strain had a little bit of everything for all MMJ patients, as its hybrid high provided both mental and physical relaxation with manageable muddiness.
Duration: Medium-Long, about 2.5 hours
Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) General relaxation, relief from muscle pain and soreness, anti-anxiety, ocular issues.
Overall: While some definite issues existed with the grow, the hybrid but Sativa-dominant nature of this strain really shined through, leaving our review staff with relaxed bodies and hazy minds. It helped a great deal with day-to-day soreness and pain while also having a pretty major eyes component. Though nobody really cared for the taste or smell that much, the duration and effects basically made up for that. A good choice for patients seeking a compromise between Sativa and Indica who don’t care much about aesthetics.
