Banana Kush (Urban Dispensary)
Banana Kush Medical Marijuana Strain Review
From: Urban Dispensary
Grade: A-
Type: Hybrid – 60% Indica dominant (Sensi Seeds Banana x OG Kush)
Price: $18/gram $50/8th
Appearance: The sample acquired had very loose bud structures, but were sparkling with very shiny trichomes. An above average visual appeal for this Kush strain.
Aroma: Yes, it does really smell like bananas, though the strong kush scent will overpower once crushed or ground.
Taste: That banana taste lingers in your mouth. Very sweet and pleasant.
Effects: This was a classic Indica body buzz, focusing its effects in the chest region (some feeling heavy and others feeling expanded or full). The sample provided quick results with some dizzy or light headed effects for the initial 5 -10 minutes.
Duration: Long. 2+ hours
Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Medium pain medication (strong enough for neck and back nerve pain). Induces strong drowsiness after initial 30 minutes, which would be great for a tasty late night medicine, provides overall muscle relaxation and relieves nausea. The chest concentration should be considered carefully for any respiratory patient.
Overall: This smoke can induce mild coughing fits as the expansion stays with you for a minute or two after smoking. It carries a solid potency for a fruity named strain and can be enjoyed sitting or on the go. It has a talkable nature, but also gives a nice introspective experience to the patient. The taste and smell are absolutely captivating, and makes for a really tasty joint to share with a group.
Chocolate Chunk (Urban Dispensary)
Chocolate Chunk Medicinal Marijuana Strain Review
From: Urban Dispensary
Grade: A
Type: Indica (another rumored at 100%)
Price: $18/gram
Appearance: It does have a brownish hue, lots of fall colors. Medium manicure and medium density.
Aroma: Didn’t scream chocolate, more like a nice but faint kushy pine smell.
Taste: Sort of hashy. Would be nice to get a Willy Wonka bar out of it, but…
Buzz Type: A heavy indica with a mixed bag of head and body effects all leading to preferable immobility. Noticeable unfocused auditory, lazy periphery, and numbness of body all lead me to be somewhat “floored”. I tried hard to stick it out as long as I could with the Chunk but in the end I had to tap out and go lie down.
Buzz Length: Long. 2.5+ hours
Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Lower back pain and slight headache completely disappeared. A good sleep aid, highly recommended for insomnia.
Overall: If you are looking for a strain with head to toe effects and great pain management, the Chocolate Chunk is one to look for. Definitely not one to wake up to, more recommended for the pre-bed smoker. May experience slight unexplained nervousness and guilt, beginners and anxious ones might want to stay clear (strong indica).
Sensi Star (Urban Dispensary)
Sensi Star Medical Marijuana Strain Review
From: Urban Dispensary
Grade: A-
Type: Indica.
Price: $18/gram
Appearance: A mix of fall colors, manicured well.
Aroma: Sweet like flowers, with a soft lemon tone underneath. (We had one bad sample that smelled terrible, but have since confirmed it was somehow tainted. The follow-up samples smelled very pleasant.)
Taste: Earthy, organic taste – no fruit or pine.
Buzz Type: Indica – sort of. Overwhelming body warmth created, but NO couchlock. Affected my conversation immediately, ten minutes later I was pacing wondering why I couldn’t get my thoughts out clearly on my notepad.
Buzz Length: 1 solid hour (only one small hit from pipe) – Larger bowls produced 1.5 – 2 regularly.
Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Don’t use this if you can’t be on your feet. Don’t use this if you can’t take a core temp increase. Do use this for mild pain relief, nausea,
Overall: The Sensi Star surprised me. I had heard OK reviews, the first sample smelled terrible, and the Star Train had disappointed me. Then…it blew me away. I only review first smokes of the day, but it was still just one hit, how was I that high? The A grade is no doubt a combination of “surprise” and “this is really underrated”, plus it scored an A- prior to discovering it wasn’t supposed to smell like garbage. I recommend this strain, after all, the dispensary owner prefers this for personal use.
