S.A.G.E. Medical Marijuana Strain Review

From: The High Country

Grade:  A

Plant Type:  Sativa-dominant hybrid, Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium)

Price:  $50/8th

Appearance:  (5/10) Looked fine but had been handled roughly again, something we’ve found at THC’s shop.

Aroma:  (3/10) Smelled just like lawn clippings that have been dried out, not unpleasant but not medicinal levels of pungence.

Taste:  (4/10) Pretty harsh with a mild expansion – very earthy and woody.  Caused coughing.

Medicine Type:  This is an immediate medication, causing the body temparature to rise, perspiring, and general heat radiation.  The first 20-30 minutes feel anxious and rushed, but then things calm down for an easy ride.

Medicine Length:  Long. 2.5 – 3 hours

Medicine Uses: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Medium pain relief, body warmth and no tension.

Overall:  I must say, this one beat me up a little bit at first with its overwhelming barrage, but when the smoke settled I was at total ease.  Must note that I was very content to be alone on this med feeling no real want for outside stimulation.

O.G. Tooth (The High Country)

From:  The High Country (Rollinsville)

Grade:  B+

Type:  Hybrid (OG Kush x Sweet Tooth)

Price:  $45/8th

Appearance: (4)  Our sample points to a nicely grown flower that was handled a little rougher than we prefer.  This THC has a huge variety that most will enjoy, but the majority of the strains we’ve seen from this dispensary are rough in appearance.

Aroma: (7) Fairly sweet, where the kush was actually overpowered in this cross though still clearly evident.  The scent stuck with this bud very well and was quite pleasant.  6/10 on pungence and 8/10 on appeal.

Taste: (5) Familiar piney kush flavor, nice but lacking in amount.  A bit harsh with solid expansion.

Medicinal Type:  Mixed bag of body and head kicking in 2-3 minutes after ingestion.  An immediate wobbly head sensation and medicinal concentration in the temples and rear lobes.  By 10 minutes the body was relaxing, the mind was slowing, and tasks were becoming projects.  Characterized as an indica relaxation with just enough sativa (energy/focus) to make chores or work performable though not preferrable.

Medicinal Length:  Long.  2 – 3 hours

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Enough indica for proper pain relief, anxiety relief, and muscular knot relaxation.  Would try for headaches as there was a strong concentration in this area.

Overall:  Two great strains mixed so you hope it’s a great medicine, but it doesn’t look like its been handled real well.  Wow, it smells better than what you’d expect from the appearance, and bang, it’s potent too!  This strain has the potential to score nicely into the A’s and break into my favorites club.  I’ll be on the lookout for more of this strain to review.

ReCON (The High Country)

From: The High Country

Grade: A-

Type:  Indica dominant.  (DNA genetics – Cannadential x LA Confidential)

Price: $45/8th

Appearance:  Beautifully let go to amber.  A lighter shaded bud.

Aroma:  I didn’t get a good sense of this smell, maybe a mild sweetness.

Taste:  Again, even changing to pipe from the vaporizer didn’t give me a good sense of the taste.  It’s familiar, but I wasn’t able to make any distinguishing notes.

Buzz Type:  Strong yet relaxing, most likely from the growers letting the trichomes go to amber.

Buzz Length:  Medium. 1.5 hours

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Absolutely good for major pains, this is probably one of my top 3 for pain at this point.

Overall:  I really enjoyed this strain. It was calming and peaceful and I ended up wearing a smile the entire time.  Not a go and do things strain to me, much more of a movie strain or a strain to just kick back and chat amongst friends.

Super Silver Haze x Herojuana (The High Country)

Super Silver Haze x Herojuana Medicinal Marijuana Strain Review

From:  The High Country (THC)

Grade:  B

Type:  Hybrid – (Indica Herojuana and Sativa SSH)

Price: $40 an 8th

Appearance:   Looked good, a bit of a pinecone shape to it (Herojuana often has this it seems).

Aroma:  A little piney, but not strong.

Taste:  A lot like mosquito spray through a vaporizer.

Buzz Type:  Quick, strong body high, increasing heart and breathing rate (pressure on chest).  This could have easily worked against someone with claustrophobia or with a lung condition.

Buzz Length:  Short. 1+ hour

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Good on muscle and nerve pain, did create some forehead/sinus pressure.

Overall:  This strain is a little strange to me in that I really like SSH typically and I haven’t had much exposure to the Herojuana previously.  Some folks may really like this because it seemed to handle my pain past the point of “buzz” but others will not obviously wish it lasted longer.

Sour Diesel (The High Country)

Sour Diesel Medicinal Marijuana Strain Review

From:  The High Country

Grade:  B

Type:  Sativa

Price: $45 1/8th

Appearance:  Not a bad representation of the Sour D, but nothing totally special either.

Aroma:  Has the sour fuel smell, staying true to its name, just not as pungent as others we have come across.

Taste:  Piney/fuel. Kind of harsh

Buzz Type:  Instant head high, it had a real intense start.  It gave me some auditory issues at first, causing my ears to ring and found difficulty focusing on desired noises.  This one had a manic start with a depressive duration, where I wasn’t locked in my seat but felt more at home there.  Being easily distracted and “antsyness” might come in to play as well.

Buzz Length: Long. 2 hours.

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)   Decent pain qualities along with pressure relief for the eyes.

Overall:  I always enjoy sour diesel, so I enjoyed this one as well, but I’ve had better.  So I’ll put it like this; good for a strain, but not the best representation for what strain it is.
