Double Gum Medical Marijuana Strain Review

FromThe Herbal Center

Grade: B-

Type: Mostly Indica Hybrid, a refined Bubblegum from White Label Seeds

Price: $50/8th

Appearance:  (4/10)  Not outwardly trich-covered, this strain was a massive chunky green and orange block of cannabis that was among the most dense and dry samples we’ve ever had.  Under-developed seeds were found throughout the sample and it was almost entirely clear trich heads, indicating an early harvest.

Aroma:  (7/10)  Very nice and super sweet Bubblegum smell, one of the most uncanny gum smells around.  It turned a bit more fruity when ground and lost the saccharine sweetness.

Taste: (7/10)  Though it had traces of that strong sweetness and the actual gum flavor, this one tasted mostly like a bit of a “fruit punch”, with a blend of fruity and sweet flavors and a flowery finish.  The smoke was extremely thick and dense (like the nug) but also had a bit of unwanted harshness that burned the throat.

Effects:  This Double Gum was an Indica-dominant experience for sure, with a heavy feeling behind the eyes and a hanging warmth over the body. Sitting gape-mouthed staring at something was not an uncommon effect, and the heavy almost wobbly head made sitting way more satisfying than moving around.  It was functional enough but it was much nicer to sit on the couch and just enjoy it.  Appetite stimulation was evident, and this was basically a typical Indica effects package thould be nice for an evening session.

Duration:  Medium-Long, 2 – 2.5 hours

Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  General relaxation, muscle tension, pain relief, sleep aid, appetite stimulation

Overall:  This strain was so Indica in every way, with its super dense and blocky nug structure, its sweet scent, and its heavy couchlock-inducing effects.  While it wasn’t our favorite in terms of a daily use medication, it would be great for those days where you want to do nothing but sit around and relax, or days when pain or loss of appetite make life very difficult.  The flaws with the grow robbed this strain of some of its potential, but it was still rather potent and did the job, even if the experience wasn’t all that it could have been.

Bubbleberry Medical Marijuana Strain Review

From: The Herbal Center

Grade: C+

Type: Hybrid, typically Indica dominant (Bubble Gum x Blue Berry)

Price: $40/8th Members

Appearance: (6/10) Pretty good manicure, not many leaves, and the ones that are present are nice and frosty.  Pretty typical blend of greens with light orange pistils, decent amount of ambers in the interior calyxes of the cluster, but mostly clear/cloudly otherwise.  Small seeds spotted in the grinder, very tiny and hard to see though. This may have caused some of the snapping/popping that happened, but the gray ash might also speak to a not-great flush.

Aroma: (7/10) Musky berry smell, not very sweet, but pretty pungent.

Taste: (3/10) Burned my throat a bit and made me cough several times.  Not much taste in this sample, just smokey.

Effects: Intitially focused itself behind the eyes and gave a body high to the legs.  This sample was not very potent, even when smoked heavily via the Incredibowl.  It provided a slight pulsing sensation around the head for about an hour, and then remained only in the legs.  This sample was difficult to describe because the potency just wasn’t great enough to produce easily identifiable traits.

Duration: Medium.  Almost 2 hours

Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  General relaxation and appetite stimulant.

Overall: For a very healthy dosage, this one was fairly weak in terms of potency.  It was a nicely balanced and pleasurable high, but it just didn’t feel all that medicinal in terms of the potency and effects.  While it helped my general tension, it didn’t do much of anything for my more severe pain and nerve issues.  The taste and harsh smoke wasn’t my cup of tea at all, and neither was the aroma (though many might find that aspect more appealing).  Compared to this Bubbleberry, it didn’t cut the mustard.

Lemon Skunk Medical Marijuana Strain Review

From: THC - The Herbal Center

Grade:  A-

Type:  Sativa-dominant hybrid

Price:  $40/8th for members

Appearance:  These flowers are light green with lush orange hairs.  As I was breaking up a bud, I saw an orange hair almost an inch long!  They are compact and fairly dense.  Plenty dry.

Aroma:  Smells like running over a skunk with a car full of lemons. Cliche, but totally true with a good crop of this strain.

Taste:  Has a great citrus taste and the powerful taste of skunk.

Effects:  Definitely a great combination of both sativa and indica.  Hits the head instantly then trickles down to the body.

Duration:  Long. 2 hours

Medicinal Use:  (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Great for muscle relaxation as the medicine eases back and shoulder pains.  Gives me a great appetite, and would be a good all day medicine.

Overall:  I really love this strain.  It is bred by DNA and Green House Seeds. The DNA comes from two extremely reputable skunk strains; a 20 year old female in Las Vegas, and a male, donated by one of the first seed bank owners in the Netherlands.  GHS’s is said to be Original Skunk and Citral.  Lemon Skunk is the 1st place winner of 2007’s High Life Cup.  Its aroma and appearance make this strain stand out from others, and the experience is real clean yet hard hitting.  Would love to pick up both while it is still in supply!
