Afghani (Medicine Man)

[smooth=id:3;]

From: Medicine Man

Grade: B+

Type: Indica

Price: $50

Appearance: Semi-dark buds with generous amounts of resin all over.  A bit leafy and airy as well.

Aroma: Very pungent smell that is a bit narcotic; what you might consider skunky if you never smelled real “skunky” previously.

Taste: Common knowledge says the taste of pure Afghani/Afghan resembles the taste of hash, and this one sure fits the description.  The taste is very strong from its potent aroma, yet very smooth when exhaled.

Buzz Type: Very mild and mellow buzz.  Afghani is not hybridized, and can deliver a very relaxing body high.  It typically doesn’t make the patient tired, like many other pure indica strains, but creates a sense of being at ease.

Buzz Length: Medium. 1.5 hours

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Confirmed pain relief for back and neck (muscle/nerve).  Confirmed assistance with lower leg spasms and concomitant discomfort.  Afghani is great for inducing the appetite.  Absolutely a great early evening smoke to release body tension, but still leaving some energy until bedtime.

Overall: Afghani/Afghan is a 100% indica strain that originates from Afghanistan, as the name implies, and is often bred in Holland.  It is a very popular medical strain due to its indica heritage, as well as a favorite for breeders.  The Afghani offers a great pure indica buzz that isn’t too stoney (new patients should try this for an indica sample).  On it’s own the Afghani doesn’t deliver the potency many MMJ patients are looking for and we suggest finding a specimen of this strain that has been let go a little more “amber” if you are a seasoned patient.

N.L.#5 x Thai (Medicine Man, LLC)

N.L. #5 x Thai Medicinal Marijuana Strain Review

From:  Medicine Man,LLC

Grade:  B+

Type:  Hybrid – Indica dominant

Price: Call to ask

Appearance:   Fresh, well taken care of – mostly dry.

Aroma:  Sweet poison berries (much of the NL#5 smell).

Taste:  Earthy, spicy, sweet.

Buzz Type:  Moderate levels of Indica and Sativa.  At first I experienced an initial body warming effect which included cerebral vision, and short lived burst of energy.   A happy place, I caught myself grooving to music and had an overall creative feeling.  Went to see a crowded movie and felt the public setting to be a bit much at first, but was able to ease in to the situation.

Buzz Length:  Long. 2 hours

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)   Was able to sit still for over two hour without any noticeable lower back aggravation (rare for me).  Classify as a moderate pain reliever with typical indica effects.

Overall:  I like any strain that makes me creative, and this one fit the profile. An extended appreciation for music and film were also a nice touch to give me that overall “cool-groove” feeling.  However, it didn’t live up to the promise of the smell and I was a little let down.  I prefer the NL#5 x Shanti to this strain.
