Purple Kush Medical Marijuana Strain Review

Type:  Indica-dominant hybrid, Hindu Kush x Purple Afghani

Appearance:  (8/10) Deep and nearly solid purple with occasional dark green patches.  We liked the color and the almost foxtail look of the bud — the trich heads were average, with maybe 15% ambers.

Aroma:  (8/10) Very interesting blend of earthy/hashy smells, that dark fruity purple, and a nice bit of sharpness on the finish.

Taste:  (7/10) Very purple, especially on the initial attack, with some perfume/incense-like qualities at the finish and aftertaste.

Effects:  Nice body high, warm and buzzy yet relaxed-feeling (not a speedy buzz), felt it behind the eyes a little bit, on the tired eyes side of the spectrum.  Kind of a creeper, making me want to just close the eyes and chill out.  Definitely an Indica dominant experience, good body relaxation but the overt body high has calmed down an hour in.  It was worrisome that the eyes being all red/slanty, but they just felt that way…  Definitely on the slow/relaxed side, just kinda want to sit and listen to music.  Could weirdly still feel some of the eyes high a full 3.5 hours after smoking finally went away around 4 hours.

Duration:  Long, 2.5 – 3 hours.

Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Relaxation, sleep aid, positivity, appetite stimulation.

Overall:  We’re not sure what the deal with the super-long eyes high duration is, but it’s definitely present.  I liked the high from this one overall, though it was a bit of a one-trick pony in that it was a very standard Indica type of buzz, with a warm pleasant body high, low/tired-feeling eyes, and the urge to sit quietly with those eyes closed or go to sleep.

Giga Bud Medical Marijuana Strain Review

Appearance:  (7/10) Looks like a lightly frosted Christmas tree.  Huge – dense, almost rock like buds, lightly sprinkled with cloudy and amber trichomes on its multi-green surface.

Aroma:  (6/10) Smells like a mix of skunky fuel and hash.

Taste:  (6/10) Tastes very earthy and is a bit peppery and spicy.  Leaves a hash like taste on exhale.

Effects:  Will give you cotton-mouth so be prepared with something tasty to drink.  Creates a strong sedating high that makes you feel happy but lazy.  Impairs mental abilities like focus, concentration, and speech.

Duration:  Long. 2 – 3 hours

Medicinal Use:  (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Creates a huge appetite with sleep inducing effects on comedown.  It is also commonly agreed that Giga Bud is a great pain medication, but causes a little paranoia, especially if over ingested.

Overall:  The very dense Giga Bud is bred by G-13 Labs, and is a great yielding strain.  An early flowering strain ideal for indoor growing.  I hear that these buds get massive and compact.  I can tell my sample was an exact replica of what I’ve been hearing about.  Having a grinder handy will make it easier to prepare these flowers for medication.  Strong mind numbing effects that deliver a long lasting, and strong medicinal experience.

Gold Berry Medical Marijuana Strain Review

Type:  Indica Dominant (Pot of Gold x Blueberry)

Price:  $59/8th

Appearance:  Crazy amounts of orange hairs protrude from the frosty – small calyxes. Big fluffy buds with excellent leaf to bud ratio.  Very dry and just on the dense side of average.

Aroma:  A pleasant citrus on the sweet side, medium pungence.  Very nice.

Taste:  A smoke you feel, a little harsh but still pleasant.  A bit of berries.  Leaves a bit of a skunky after-taste.

Buzz Type:  Quick hitting, but quite mild.  The head rush doesn’t last long, but the body high is sure to get you relaxed and ready for bed.

Buzz Length:  Long. 2 – 2 ½ hours

Medicinal Use:  (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  This medication is great in relieving insomnia.  Really eases my stomach discomforts, and gives me great back pain relief.  Eases anxiety.

Overall:  Gold Berry (or Blue Gold) is a beautiful strain with an inviting odor and caked with red-hairs.  The smoke was very pleasant and relaxed the body as an indica should do.  The pain relief was great, but it didn’t last very long.  I still had a great buzz, but felt the pain in my back return about 30 minutes after toking.  Ended up falling asleep from re-medicating a few more times.  Excellent bedtime smoke.
