Mazar-I-Shariff (Green Belly Co-Op)

Mazar-I-Shariff Medicinal Marijuana Strain Review

From:  Green Belly Co-Op

Grade:  B

Type:  Indica (One of a few 100% Indicas you can still find around)

Price:  $20/gram

Appearance:  This sample could have been manicured better, lots of leaves and small pieces of smoke able matter near the end of each branch.  2 grams is more  like 1 of smokeable.  (The long leaves still had crystal structure)

Aroma:  Very rich, in the 4oz glass jar it was just like movie theater butter.  On its own it lost much of that scent, but still had a greasy smell.

Taste:  Earthy in, with a sort of popcorn butter aftertaste.

Buzz Type:  An indica high that left me kind of spacey and tired while allowing me to remain somewhat functional.  Felt like keeping to myself mostly, not really in the mood for extended conversation, just wanted to relax on my own.

Buzz Length: Medium.  1 ½ – 2

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)   Slight pain numbing effects, I feel this one might be better applied for troubles with relaxing and sleep.

Overall:  Very peaceful and perfect for being outside enjoying nature.  I was content working on my laptop listening to the highway and children playing outside - I would take this to the beach any day.  If your day isn’t built around relaxing, be sure to start this one more towards bedtime as opposed to mid-day medicating.

Hindu Kush x Diesel (GreenBellyCo-Op)

Hindu Kush x Diesel Medicinal Marijuana Strain Review

From:  Green Belly Co-Op

Grade: B+

Type:  Hybrid maybe even a 50/50

Price:  $20/gram

Appearance:  Dense, dry nuggets.

Aroma:  Sour, lemony kush scent.

Taste:  Really tastes like kush, just like the blunt wrapper in Kush Flavor.  Medium expansion.  Sweet after taste that lingers in the mouth.

Buzz Type:  Short and very back and forth, one minute I had energy the next I was tired then energy again.

Buzz Length:  Medium. 1.5 hours

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Not sure how medicinal this is with it being so back and forth as far as body and mental.  I did have a good appetite increase.

Overall:   This is an interesting strain as it is comprised of similar components as the I.N.T. but it had differing effects for all of us.  I recommend trying this in a small sample to see if your body reacts to the kush or diesel more strongly.  I know that I tend to get more out of the indica side of this strain but was witness to the exact opposite effect in others.

Trainwreck (Green Belly Co-Op)

Written by Ry on March 7th, 2010. Posted in B, Blog, Green Belly Co-Op, Reviews, Sativa-Dominant Hybrid

Trainwreck Medicinal Marijuana Strain Review

From:  Green Belly Co-Op

Grade:  B

Type:  Hybrid – Sativa Dominant.

Price: $20/gram

Appearance:  This was a skinnier, longer bud.  Well taken care of and a 50/50 green to orange ratio.

Aroma:  Earthy, organic fertilizer.

Taste:  More pine cone than pine sol.

Buzz Type:  Heavy sativa.  Big drop off in mood and temperament at 1.5 hours.  We went from sitting to standing to laughing to agitated to complaining and finally to achey.

Buzz Length:  Long.  2 ½ – 3 Hours

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)   Do not take a heavy sativa like this for anything related to immediate sleep, though 3-4 hours after ingestion your body will be wiped out and comatose-like sleeping is very plausible.  Maybe fatigue or anti-social behavior.  I wouldn’t use this for extended pain relief.

Overall:  This Trainwreck sample is what I remember, MUCH better than the sample we previously reviewed.    At the outset and even 45 minutes into this strain we were sure it would be an A- at worst and had potential for an A.  The issue was that just like the best sugar rush, the down side was fierce.  The energy based rush that had me on my feet and ready to go dumped me on my butt just after it got me out of the house.  Though the buzz continued past 2 hours it was a downward, agitated feeling with multiple reviewers commenting on their aches and pains and general irritability.
