Appearance: (8/10) Though its structure was slightly on the wispy side, this strain gleamed with trichomes and caught our eye from the display case. The coloring was a standard mix of rich Sativa light green and darker leaves with slender orange pistils — the harvest timing was very nice, with about 15% ambered trichomes. With a good manicure and a nicely dry texture, this was an easy smoke.
Aroma: (8.5/10) Reminding us of expensive hand soaps and dryer sheets, the aroma from the 3D was a relatively sweet pine-citrus sharpness. with a little whiff of skunk The sweet elements came out more after a grind, but it was relatively pungent even in the jar.
Taste: (8/10) Much like the aroma but less pungent, the flavor was an odd, yet appealing mix of chemical pine and an almost flowery/perfumed sweetness. We wish it was more pungent, but it was a bit of an ethereal taste. This strain caused coughing in all reviewers to varying degrees and was a little on the harsh side overall despite the near-white final ash.
Effects: Likely in part due to the coughing that we all experienced, this strain began with a typical rush of warmth and pressure to the head and face, with quite a bit of perspiration around the eyes and brow — the head also felt light and floaty, like a jack-in-the-box. The primary mental effect was a sense of an almost frenzied focus that would jump between things but rarely stayed on the “important” ones… a scatter-brained focus if that makes sense. Due to that, the energy didn’t feel particularly productive and left us unsure what to really do with ourselves at times. That eventually passed and left a much more focused and productive state, though without the buzzing energy… this med left us feeling a little drained by the end.
Duration: Medium, 2 – 2.5 hours
Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) A bit strange and unsettling at times, this strain was all about the energy at first, but the mental focus wasn’t there to back it up. There was a lot of ocular attention, and we also noticed a little uptick in creativity and some anti-nausea properties. Genetically, this strain is known to be good for RSD, MS, and fibromyalgia symptoms.
Overall: The “bag appeal” for this one was very high, and it caught our attention amongst Pure’s 20 or so other strains in the display case, which speaks to that. A complex taste and smell package led into a supremely energetic but unfocused state that may be good for creativity but made it a little difficult to deal with daily tasks. This was a very strongly Sativa experience, complete with slight “crash” at the end — people who cannot handle the racy varieties should steer clear of this one, as that was its main property.
