Strawberry Cough Medical Marijuana Strain Review

From: Botanic Labs

Grade: B+

Type: Sativa-Dominant Hybrid (said to be Strawberry Fields x Haze)

Price: $50/8th

Appearance: (8/10)  Top notch treatment-wise here, with a well-timed harvest (25% ambers in areas), a good manicure, and a perfect level of dryness.  The coloring is mostly a muted gray-green with some darker leaves and groves of fiery orange pistils.

Aroma: (8.5/10)  Probably the single best feature of this strain, the aroma was a pungent sweet-and-sour berry that was reminiscent of an under-ripe fruit.  The Haze influence is noticeable and this strain has a slightly acrid bite to it that makes you crinkle your nose a bit.

Taste: (8/10)  While the taste was a pretty amazing blend of sweet and sour berry that matched the smell almost to a tee, that flavor went downhill somewhat quickly, with only the first two hits containing any kind of flavor.  However, the smoke was still rather smooth on the throat despite its above-average expansion level… and the pure white “skeleton” ash confirms that this had a perfect flush.

Effects: Rather balanced to start off, this strain produced a buzzing feeling behind the eyes and around the head (which felt heavy on the shoulders) as well as the body, which was immediately relaxed.  It was extremely strong behind the eyes by 30 minutes in, burning a bit but not quite reaching the tired state.  With its mood elevating properties and its fairly potent-feeling body sensations, this feels like a quality hybrid experience that isn’t dominated by one side or the other.

Duration: Medium, 2 – 2.5 hours

Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  General relaxation, mild body pain/tension relief, appetite stimulation, possible ocular relief.

Overall: If you’re someone who enjoys a complex berry taste and aroma, this strain is right up your alley. If you want a nicely calming experience but don’t want to be knocked out, this is a good choice.  Basically, it’s a moderately potent all-purpose medication that didn’t really shine in any area but also didn’t lack in any.  As usual with Botanic Labs, the post-grow care was superb, as was the timing of the harvest.  If only it had a little extra punch or duration it would’ve been in the A- to A range for sure.

Just as a comparison, this is the highest scoring B+ they have listed, much closer to the A- or A category with an average of 8.2/10. From personal experiences, this is the best strawberry cough I have seen anywhere and very long lasting for me, 2 tokes in the morning and I’m still buzzy after 3 hours.

Ashy, don’t forget that the scores are only for 3 sections of the review, as a means to communicate. The duration, the overall experience, and the potency play large roles in the final grade determination across reviewers. The final letter grade is reached when all reviews have been submitted and the editor compares the reasonings, experiences and scores. As always, personal preference plays a role for every individual patient and we certainly recommend patients trying for themselves, obviously this Strawberry Cough has a good fan base :)
