Strain:  Chernobyl

From:  Grasshopper Wellness Center

Pickup Date:  6/15/2011

Inspection Status:  Pass

Though this sample came from the end of a batch and the last of a jar, the tiny buds were oddly well-preserved, displaying an array of beautiful perfectly spherical trichome heads which spanned the range from clear to amber, with a near-perfect harvest timing in our opinion.  Though the buds were small, one can see the large calyxes and bright colors that this sample displays, surely more impressive had we gotten in on an earlier part of the harvest.

The smell of this strain was a bit muted with a small sample in a plastic jar, but carried notes of flowers and citrus, developing into a sharper, more chemical lemon scent when ground — still, it never was all that pungent.  The flavor followed in kind, ending up more like the pre-grind smell, in that flowery citrus area, but never really making a strong appearance.  The smoke was smooth and easy, and the fluffy light gray and white ash showed that it had seen a quality flush.

Considering the timing of this pickup, we were very impressed with this example of Chernobyl (especially visually) and definitely want to check out a fresh batch.
