AK Cherry Lime (CAM)
AK Cherry Lime Medical Marijuana Strain Review
Type: Sativa-dominant Hybrid (phenotype of AK-47)
Appearance: (8/10) Pale green with pinkish pistils and a spear-like structure, this sample had above average trichome coverage, but many were damaged and missing heads upon closer inspection. Other than that, it was a very well cared-for sample that was cured and dry the way we like it.
Aroma: (8/10) The strain name is evident in the aroma — there’s a sweet fruity smell in the jar that turns into a pungent and very citrusy (definitely lime) sharpness after being ground up or handled.
Taste: (7/10) Smooth citrus with almost vanilla and spice notes, reminded us of a lime creamsicle.
Effects: A warm body buzzing with energy was a sign of things to come, while the strong initial mental spaciness was short-lived. Once it settled in, energy was prevalent, as was the motivation to take on tasks — chores disappeared one after another, and barely a thought was given to them… auto-pilot a bit. While it wasn’t a total painkiller, it did relax the body quite a bit despite the energetic bent of the experience. As the effects died down, a bit of tiredness and the urge to sit came on, making this an “up then down” strain.
Duration: Long, 2.5 – 3 hours
Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Energy and motivation flowed freely despite the mental spaciness at times. As the experience wore on, it took on a more somatic and relaxing tone, but the body was relaxed the entire time. The strong eye effects suggest that it may be useful for glaucoma, etc.
Overall: One of those strains that makes you enjoy even menial tasks and do them well, this AK was a welcome boost of energy and motivation as well as an improvement in mood. This was also a strain that lived up to its name, truly delivering a sweet and citrusy experience that was totally enjoyable. No warnings here, it was never too potent and never showed any negative effects — this one is good for any level of patient who enjoys a bit of energy in a Sativa.
