This strain didn’t impress us visually from a distance or up-close really, with quite a few broken or mutated trichome heads, lacking the proper stalk and globe-like circular head combination that we normally see on premium samples. Despite that, the harvest timing was solid, with plenty of cloudy and amber trichomes visible, especially on leaf surfaces. The trim was adequate but there were definitely non-frosty leaves left on, and we also saw some small seeds in the lower parts of the bud. It appeared to have been well-cured though, as the texture was perfect, with a tacky feel that showed it wasn’t over-dried.
The aroma of this sample was where we first began to change our opinion of it, as it gave off an unexpected fresh and clean, lightly sweet aroma that reminded us of a Northern Lights or Jack Herer, minus some of the citrus qualities those strains have. It wasn’t overtly pungent until grinding, but then the character of the smell was just pleasant and fresh. The flavor was much the same in terms of crispness, but added a smooth and lightly sweet almost cherry-like quality to the party, which endured on the first 2-3 hits then changed to a more muted sweetness. The smoke was smooth the entire time and the apparent good cure paid off here, making for a very pleasurable experience down to the light gray and white ash.
If you like a crisp-tasting Indica-dominant strain, this one was an easy, smooth smoke and impressed us with its smell and flavor after not raising an eyebrow visually — worthy of a pick-up for sure, though shy of the top-level meds around town.
