Strain: PermaFrost (White Widow x Northern Lights)

From: Rocky Mountain Farmacy

Pickup Date: 6/1/2011

Inspection Status: Caution

This is a case where we found no bugs or obvious problems with the medicine, but it simply just looked, smelled, and tasted pretty awful.  To get this as a high recommendation from the budtender (even as their 2nd tier medicine) was somewhat of a shock, considering how brown and unattractive it looked.  It seemed to have possibly been grown in a greenhouse, as well as cured for a very long time, or just very old.  The trichomes all had a yellow-gold tint to them, with some amber heads visible, but were generally very beat-up and mostly missing heads.  There were also large guard leaves left on, which seemed plastered to the buds and definitely served to make the smoking experience harsher than it could’ve been.

The smell was just vegetal when ground, not really giving off much of anything.  Taste-wise, it was mostly just the flavor of burning plant matter, giving a harsh and unpleasant smoke, even on the first hits, before eventually burning to a murky black ash.  This just wasn’t enjoyable at all and represents some of the worst-looking and worst-smoking medicine we’ve had in some time… our chief reviewer barely made it through a small bowl before throwing in the towel.

Could this be a spray residue or something along those lines?

That’s part of what we were worried about — the color was just so… off, that we were a little scared to even smoke it. We’ve seen that coloration once or twice before, but don’t have any testing capabilities for this sort of thing. Getting through the 1/4 bowl to see if it had some merits was probably too much…

If anyone knows what the mustard-colored trichomes are all about, please chime in! Our thoughts were primarily pesticide residue or perhaps just overcured greenhouse meds that have been sitting around for a VERY long time.

Looks like it was harvested way too late as well as poorly manicured and cured. The trichomes will turn dark and stard dropping off if the bud is left on the plant too long.

I also worked at RMF, hi Liz, I got the place off the ground and running, although if you ask the owners, the will lie and tell you that’s not true, as well as tell you the KEN WEAVER, the crook, is not the main owner and Michelles, husband, but that;s another story. I am happy to see that two years later, after I was wrongly strongarmed out of money owed, the place is still doing horible. I can only say, Ken, you shouldn’t have screwed me over! Karma is a bitch! and all that JAZZ! Anyway, that is gonna be what you should expect from this place. If you go there without looking at it’s reviews or strain reviews, I feel for your loss…. to the individual that wrote this review, I am sory you lost this hand and better luck next time. Oh, btw, the website says “under new managment”, they are always under new managment, I would stay away even if it said under new ownership, cause it would be a LIE! NO ONE WOULD BUY THAT CRAP JOINT!!!!!!!
