Bordello Medicinal Marijuana Strain Review
From: Green Belly Co-Op
Grade: B
Type: Hybrid, often Indica dominant in feeling but this one felt Sativa-dominant — [Blackberry Apocalypse x Alexis F2 pollen, from Texas Resin Company (Alexis = Sweet tooth #3 x Lavender; BB Apocalypse is Tony (*bagseed clone) x Blackberry from Memy's Finest Seeds)]
Price: $50/8th
Appearance: (6/10) Very dry. Muted and dark green with a bit of purpling that wasn’t apparent until closer inspection. When under the scope a rainbow of colors are visible, from yellows and light greens to royal purple and red hairs. Looks and smells like beasters from back in the day from afar. Not much of anything special, just a blocky tight nug with not much visible trich coverage. When under the scope though, the trichs are pretty intact and beautiful, with over 25% ambers. Very pretty bud up close, can see the Blackberry influence for sure, pity it isn’t more outwardly apparent… appeal would be an 8.5 or so if it were up-close only.
Aroma: (3/10) Just smells grassy in the bag, again reminds of “beasters” [B.C. standard mid-90s], develops slightly when ground to a herby and slightly skunky smell.
Taste: (6/10) Not particularly flavorful, I’d place it in the slightly sweet and herby category. A very smooth smoke with medium expansion. I got more flavor on the 2nd IncrediBowl than the first.
Effects: Nice and strong to the eyes, didn’t make them feel tired or anything though, can just feel that pressure. Solid body high and overall good awareness, felt sativa dominant at first though. Nice body high settles in as it wears on, about 2 hours in it’s solid relaxation in back and legs especially. Can still feel the eyes a bit but that’s mostly gone… seemed to be a mellow sativa buzz mixed with that nice body high.
Duration: Long. 2 – 2.5 hours
Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) General relaxation, mild pain relief, clear-headed relief.
Overall: I still think this is a sativa dominant pheno of this cross. That, or it’s just a barely indica dominant, as it was very clear-headed. It definitely gives a nice body high, but that isn’t the primary feeling (that would be the mellow head high). It kept us well aware and alert throughout the experience, never felt heavy or “stoned”. In many ways it was very similar to the CCH Bordello we reviewed previously, but this one had a much “clearer” experience cerebrally. The body highs were almost exact matches.
