Afkansastan Medical Marijuana Strain Review

From:  Herbal Element

Grade:  B+

Type:  Indica, pure Afghani lineage strain that was named after where it was refined

Price:  $55/8th

Appearance:  (8/10)  Dark green with slight purple hues, nearly invisible brick red pistils.  Solid trichome count and large calyxes, with most of the trichs being cloudy or amber (late harvest).  Burned to dark gray ash, could have used better/longer flush possibly.

Aroma:  (8/10) Very complex and unexpected for a pure Afghani strain… the sweetness and multitude of smells was great.  It was hard to describe, but I definitely got some dark fruity/berry notes, especially post-grind when the pungence skyrocketed.

Taste:  (8/10) Similar to smell, berries that did not earth out like most sweet ones do, more like it hashed out slightly.

Effects: Instant and extremely clean relaxed feeling but not the intense crushing indica takeover expected.  Body went from tight and anxious to loose and calm with a pulsing from top to back of head. Very comfortable and very welcome start.  It progresses to a  really positive and happy experience, sometimes just causing smiles.  Great mix of head and body, strong in both areas.  It lets up quite a bit 1.5 hours in, but I was able to cook dinner totally pain-free and it never made me want to just sit around even though the body high was so present and relaxing.

Duration:  Long.  2 – 2.5 hours

Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Pain inhibitor, muscle relaxer, depression, anxiety.  Temperature was not affected, systolic blood pressure remained level and diastolic only rose between 5-10 for an hour, but heart rate did skyrocket at least 15 BPS during the intitial 30-45 minutes across all reviewers.

Overall:  Like a rollercoaster with a big first drop, this one was strong off the bat and then finished out much calmer.  We loved the mixed nature of the high, and it felt almost equal in terms of mental and physical effects.  The unexpectedly sweet and fruity taste and smell was a great addition to the effects.  I’d recommend this to almost anyone, as it was balanced and not too strong… and may be our new in-house favorite “easy indica”.
