Betty Banner Medical Marijuana Strain Review

From:  Delta 9 Caretakers

Grade:  A

Type:  Sativa-dominant hybrid, Bruce Banner #3 (Strawberry Diesel x OG Kush) x Fort Collins Cough

Price: $40/8th Member $50/8th Non-Member

Appearance:  (9/10)  The pictures look nice but they don’t do this strain justice.  We received a small sample as this strain will always be in limited supply.  The coloration was magnificent, greens, oranges, purples, and more.  The trichome count was very high and the density/dryness were perfect for immediate medicating.

Aroma: (9/10)  The Bruce Banner takes over this smell, which is fine with us as it brings forth so many great scents.  You will find soft fruit and soil, as well as a common diesel scent with pleasant earth and pine tones.

Taste: (10/10)  This is perfect in our opinion – a split of taste between the fruit/diesel of the strain itself and the organic matter it derived life from.  All medicine should taste like this…

Effects:  Initial soaring effect, very potent characteristics for mind, head, body core and extremeties.  There is no missing the onslaught of medicine from every angle and most patients will take 5 minutes to gather their bearings.  You will then notice the sativa activity as you get an energy rush and mental euphoria. The indica traits keep the shoulders and back relaxed even as the sativa continues to deliver.  This is strong medicine.

Duration:  Medium, 2 hours

Medicinal Use: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  The sativa side is great for mental and anxiety disorders, and it provides terrific motivation for depression.  Moderate to good pain relief.  Muscle and mind medication – plus good appetite stimulant.

Overall:  This strain takes an A+ strain and adds a terrific new kick.  The Fort Collins Cough (Northern Lights #5 x Haze #17) was one of this editor’s personal favorites while attending CSU in the mid-late 90′s because of its potency mixed with clarity.  It was always a highly functional sativa hybrid that was only missing an exquisite flavor and scent.  The BB#3 brings that to the table with perfection.  The only suggestion KindReviews has for this strain is a new name… beauties like this deserve their own calling card!

UPDATE 9/2/10:  This strain was reviewed prior to our current methodology and has thus been re-classified as an A based on a curve re-adjustment.  It earned an A+ initially, but the standard has risen.  It’s a quality strain to be sure, but it appears that it won’t be produced again, so it’s not very helpful as an A+ in terms of current patients being acle to acquire it.

I think I should have a say in the name, since I made it.

Either way….I dunno if this pheno is gonna get out there…..Looks like I’ll do one more round and then see….It is very tough to grow,it herms like crazy, and anything that is ever pollinated by it will produce seeds thar herm even more…. also, everytime I give anything out, it ends up in the hands of a million novice growers who grow it poorly and give a great strain a bad name. (This is what happened with my S.A.G.E., about 7 years ago. I should have never given it out…It’s great herb and yields 3lbs per 1000w when grown correctly, but when grown poorly, looks like shit)

I am probably only going to keep and give out the “NL” Pheno of the Cough x Banner, which doesn’t herm at all, is a headier smoke, is easier to grow, is more potent, tastes better IMO, and yields better….9 out of 10 people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference…I even had trouble when it was first being jarred up, and didn’t label a couple jars.

With today’s cannabis climate, trading/giving out clones has become nothing but a headache….90% of the clones out there have some type of pest or mildew/mold, and on the other end, everyone and their mother gets a cut and since there are 10 x as many novice growers in CO as there were 3 years ago, it appears to never live up to it’s potential.

I am not being a dick….I am changing with the times…..Of course I will give it to one or two close friends to enjoy and keep it safe, under the presumption that it not be given to ANYONE or sold in any dispensary.

Just wanted to make it perfectly clear that my above opinion is about the GENERAL state of cannabis in Colorado and not about Delta 9 in any way. Delta 9 is the only dispensary that I step foot into, and I wanted it to be very clear that they have done everything in their power to do business in an honest, professional, kind, and generous manner. Jason and his employess are in it for all the right reasons and after re-reading my previous post, I just wanted to say that D9 is not the problem, but rather the solution to the problems that many dispensaries have created. I have never had anything but good experiences there.
