Compared to the other two earwax samples we’ve reviewed from Broadway Wellness (Blue Dream and Durban Poison), this one was a more pliable and soft consistency, being easily molded with the fingers and not crumbling when handled.  We loved the texture of the sample, and it also had the appropriate golden-blond coloring for earwax extractions… very good marks across the board in appearance.

The smell and taste were more of a mixed bag — we liked both areas less than we did the other samples that we got from Broadway Wellness (the Durban being our favorite).  The smell was mostly a slightly musky and vegetal smell with a little hint of citrus; not particularly pungent or unique.  Our expert reviewer also picked up a slight hint of butane smell, indicating that perhaps it wasn’t as well-purged as the other samples were.

The flavor of the smoke was much like the smell, an earthy hit without much uniqueness that expanded readily in the lungs and was moderately harsh on the throat, causing coughing at times.  It melted very easily when heat was applied, though it left behind a greenish residue with particulate in it, indicating that it could’ve been a more pure extraction.

Unlike the Durban Poison and Blue Dream earwax, this one was made from a heavily Indica-dominant strain, and that definitely shaped the experience and changed the effects a great deal.  It hits the eyes and the body simultaneously and almost immediately after ingestion.  This one was not nearly as clear-headed and functional as the others, but it had a much stronger body component, actually providing muscle relaxation as well as strong mental relaxation.  The mental fog was mostly early on in the effects and cleared as the potency declined, but the body relaxation was constant.  While a single hit only lasted 1.5 hours or so, we felt that this was slightly more potent than the Blue Dream, coming on more strongly at first.

We recommend this earwax for patients seeking body relaxation along with an anxiety-reducing package of mental effects.  It had solid pain management properties and also seemed to improve appetite a great deal, giving this earwax perhaps the most medicinal properties in our eyes among the three samples.  If a larger amount is consumed (3 hits or more), the effect definitely lasted into the 2.5 hour range, though this was one we most enjoyed “sipping on” throughout the evening.
