Product Name: Quad Dose Indica

FromCheeba Chews

Type:  Medicated chocolate taffy made with hash oil

Dosage:  4 dosages per package, labeled as “70 mg THC +/- 10%”

Price: Retails anywhere from $7-$12

Packaging/Visual Appeal: (6/10)  Cheeba Chews are a simple product with simple packaging — they are a Tootsie Roll-style chocolate taffy log wrapped in a piece of wax paper.  The actual label is a glossy and clearly-printed band of paper with full ingredient information, dosage info, and safety warnings, which is appreciated.  The different products offered by Cheeba Chews are color-coded by Indica (black), Hybrid (green), and Sativa (orange) as well to make identifying them easier.

While we appreciate the cautious labeling, the wrapper itself is fairly cheap and we would have really liked to see some sort of airtight packaging.  While our freshly-manufactured samples were still moist and chewy, we have encountered older Cheeba Chews in dispensaries that had hardened due to wrappers that came untwisted or simply with age.  Further, the ends of the packages can easily be opened while they’re sitting on shelves, opening the possibility to tampering, etc., which raises issues with a medical grade product.  The chew itself is shiny and appealing for what it is, though it isn’t exactly mouth-watering to look at a square piece of quasi-chocolate.

Aroma: (8.5/10)  These Cheeba Chews smelled pretty great for such a simple confection, carrying the aroma of smooth chocolate and vanilla.  They smelled very sweet and had us excited to try them.  The medicine was not really noticeable in the aroma — it seemed overwhelmed by the sweetness and the vanilla.

Taste: (7/10)  While one reviewer really liked the taste and didn’t pick up much medicine taste, the other reviewers were only lukewarm on the actual flavor.  The first few chews were like a standard (but better, since it’s homemade) Tootsie Roll, but then a slightly bitter and medicinal taste takes over for the remaining duration.  The medicine is heavily detectable in these chews, which is a good thing for many patients (you know something’s in them!), but a little much for others in terms of actually enjoying the product.  These aren’t the tastiest edibles on the market by a long shot, but if you like the taste of hash oil and chocolate taffy at all, it’ll be just fine.

Effects: Coming on between an hour and two hours, the effects package started off with a creeping body relaxation that built over the first two hours, coming along with slightly heavy eyes and a very mellow, unmotivated mood.  The effects continued to build until hour #3, when they began their gradual decline.  Heavy body relaxation and tired, red eyes had our review staff feeling ready for bed between 3 and 4 hours into the review on average, continuing through the comedown and final effects, which lasted well into 6 hours.  The full dosage will put almost anyone in a sleepy mindset, even our experienced and relatively high-tolerance review staff.

Medical Uses: Great sleep aid, muscle relaxation, mental relaxation, and some pain relief properties

Overall:  While the flavor was not exactly universally-appealing to our staff and the packaging can use some major improvement, the Cheeba Chews certainly excelled where it counted, which is in the effects and duration categories.  The heavily sedative and relaxing effects were exactly as advertised by the Indica labeling, providing a strong and quality package of effects that had all of our staff heavily medicated at various stages.  Lasting some reviewers out into the 6th hour, the duration is top-notch for an edible, especially considering that the “comedown” effects can be nearly as strong as the peak effects, since the main result of both is a heavy sleepiness.

The common $10-12 price point for these may be a little bit high to make them your only solution for medicating, but at a hearty 4 dosages per (most of our staff could eat half of these and still get satisfactory effects), there is definitely a good “bang-for-your-buck” in these quad dose packages.  We give the Quad Dose Indica Cheeba Chews a hearty recommendation for those seeking relaxation and especially sleep aid — these are the most potent and effective edible we’ve tested here at KindReviews thus far.

The package says 70mg, the tests say half that…..hmmm. Regardless, CChews are the hot edibles on the market. You guys should get the Leaf Bars lady on the phone…saw her FSL tests today…70mg per bar!

Cheeba Chews has adopted a new, airtight wrapper that is much more visually appealing as well. Definitely the most potent edible I’ve come across in a dispensary.

Yeah I just noticed that when looking at their website, it’s definitely an improvement.

An independent testing from RM3 Labs, LLC, on the potency of each chew can be found on the Cheeba Chew website. Example of latest Sativa test:

The new wrappers are killer as well.

The Dazy’s Hash Cap might beat the Cheeba in potency, would like to see a review of those
