Name: Blue Dream Earwax

From: Broadway Wellness

Type: Earwax hash, butane extraction — made from 100% Blue Dream

Price: $50/gram

Consumption Method:  One reviewer used a TI Curve through a mini-bong while another used a glass concentrate pipe with a screen

Like the Durban Poison Earwax we reviewed from Broadway, this Blue Dream Earwax was rather dry and crumbly, almost looking like kief from a distance.  It seemed to dry out a decent amount rather quickly, as it was more plyable the first 2 or 3 days we had the sample than it was 1.5 weeks later.  The pure-looking sandy-gold color pleased the crew, as it’s always an indication of purity when no green tint is noticed.  We all agreed that this appeared to be a well-done earwax.

The smell was a little divisive and seemed to depend on when the sample was smelled, as it lost much of its aroma once it dried up a bit.  It had a lightly floral and fruity aroma that was never all that pungent, but still better than many concentrate samples.  The flavor was much the same, seemingly stronger when we first got the sample than after it dried.  When more moist, it produced a lightly sweet and fruity taste that was enjoyed by our reviewer through the TI Curve.  There was an aftertaste that reminded us of “Icy Hot” as well, which wasn’t exactly enjoyable, but unique nonetheless.

When heat was applied to this earwax, it simply vanishes, barely even getting a chance to bubble before essentially evaporating into nothing but a green-gold residue.  The residue left behind showed that it wasn’t 100% pure, but that it was still a very clean extraction.  There was no sizzling on the skillet, indicating that it was a well-purged oil.

The effects started off strongly, with an immediate head presence and in one reviewer’s case, near-instant appetite stimulation.  This was an extremely heady hash sample, basically ignoring the body altogether, only providing some base buzzing that didn’t give any pain relief.  However, it was rather psychoactive, keeping the eyes and face filled with pressure and warmth for quite a while and uplifting the spirit.  It’s a stimulating, functional medicine that we felt wasn’t too strong for daytime use, as it left us feeling capable and focused when needed.

This was a very clean earwax but we felt the effects were less potent overall than Broadway’s Durban Poison Earwax.  This was a tasty and nice-smelling sample which pleased our staff in those regards, but it just didn’t have the staying power (lasted barely 2 hours) or peak potency to push itself ahead of the Durban as an overall.  We were pleased with how pure it appeared and how quickly it melted, and would recommend this earwax most highly as a daytime motivational med.  It’s a good pick-me-up that has moments of potency but overall kept us at an even keel of positivity and productivity.
